1941 Lincoln Zephyr Four Door Sedan.
This car is exactly like the one that my Dad bought in May of 1941. The only difference is that lack of big yellow Fog Lights on the front bumper. The reason that Dad bought this car was to travel to LaVerne, California to our Church’s Annual Conference. We drove 9,000 miles in six weeks with six adults and me as a 5 year old in the Lincoln. This travel was done without the Interstate highway System, Fast Food Restaurants, Motels at all intersections etc.
Dad also bought a 16 MM camera and 1600 ft. or color film to photograph the trip. A man who didn’t take more then 3-dozen pictures with a Brownie Box camera before the trip made this photographic move. Dad spliced these film clips together after the trip and showed them at Churches, Schools and Social Groups. He was probably the first Travelogue Presenter in York County. All of these pictures give us a lot of memories of our 1941 Lincoln Zephyr and the California trip.
