1990 Dorsey Trailer (Award Design)

         This trailer is displayed as an example of two things. One reason is to show how delivery of milk has changed over 70 years. From a small car and/or milk-wagon without any refrigeration to a 45 foot mechanically refrigerated trailer with heavy duty lift gates to lift and lower up to 90 milk cases at one time. The other reason is to show the example of the graphic design that Rutters Dairy had on their trailers and large wholesale trucks for Rutter’s 75th Anniversary in 1996.

         I worked with a New England Design Company to come up with this simple cartoon style design. It was to give the impression of farm fresh quality products, without cluttering the overall picture advertisement. This was one of the first truck picture type graphic in south central Pennsylvania and drew a lot attention from the public.

         This design was submitted in the Commercial Car Journal Annual Design Contest in 1996. We received a Third Place Award for our Design in that National Contest.
