1956 Chrysler Imperial Four Door Sedan

1956 Chrysler Imperial 4 Dr. Sdn

This car is another one like my Dad owned. His 1956 Imperial was a blue tinted exterior car instead of the green that this one is painted. This car is all original except the bottom exterior paint color. It was repainted about five years ago. The car has 87,000 miles on it and drives like a floating cloud. The front seat bottom shows a little wear but that is the only wear spot. The car has a big Hemi engine, power steering, power brakes, power windows and push button auto trans controls. The odd thing about this is that there is no park position for the transmission. The only thing that holds the car is the “Emergency Hand Brake”.

Dad took his car like this to California also. This time it was only four people. The other reason I collected this car is the memory of Dad keeping his horse saddle and “Flag Carrying Equipment” in the trunk. Dad was a Director for the Harrisburg Horse Show for many years and he rode his horse and carried the US Flag to open every session of the Harrisburg Horse Show for many years. This was after Dad stopped showing his horse competitively.
