1973 Chevy Suburban I bought this Chevrolet 1500 Suburban new in 1973. I had it built especially to pull my 7,000 lb travel trailer. It has a 454 engine with a 4:11 rear axle ratio, heavy duty trailer pulling package. It worked beautifully going up and down the mountains. I never had any overheating problems. It also liked a lot of gas. When I got my second Suburban in 1977, I sold this Suburban to an employee in 1977 who used it to pull his travel trailer. He used it for 26 years and enjoyed its power and handling ability for pulling his trailer. When he stopped pulling a trailer he asked if I wanted to buy it back. I did and now I have it on my list to refurbish sometime in the future. The vehicle is still road worthy but needs to have all the normal Chevy rust areas worked on as well as redoing the interior and working under the hood to detail and rebuild some parts. |
